Paul Hindle – Roads Around the Sands
The talk describes the changing routes across and around the sands of Morecambe Bay from Lancaster to the Furness Peninsula. The first turnpike via Kendal was opened in 1763 followed by the 1818 turnpike which is now largely followed by the A590.
